Opportunities for Personal Growth and Career Enhancement.
The OG Molefe Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future of young people through the wonderful game of golf.
The organisation prides itself in providing mentoring programmes in the form of education and sport in the Soweto area working together with the Rhulani Mabasa Children's Foundation (RMCF).
Through repeated failures in the classroom and the development of destructive habits, at-risk young people have lost faith in the possibilities that await them. If young people are to be successful in putting their lives together they must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect.
It is therefore the foundation’s belief that re-establishing a sense of commitment in our youth, to follow through on a path to adulthood, must be done with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The Foundation is dedicated to bringing the sport of golf into the lives of children and providing them with opportunities they otherwise would never be exposed to.
Since the inception of the Foundation, more than 60 children have been exposed to golf and the important life lessons it teaches them. We work with many different organisations such as schools, youth organisations, golf courses, and other groups to offer and support junior golf programs. The programs are designed to introduce children typically between the ages of 5 and 17 to the sport of golf, its fundamentals, rules, history, etiquette, and most importantly life lessons
